As a customer of The Turf Shed, you become part of our Turf Shed family. And because you should know a few things about your family (you are inviting us into your home after all), let us share some of our story.
Why we love our lawn
While working as a Clearance Diving Officer in the Australian Defence Force, even on weekdays, Doug has made the most of being outdoors (although much of it underwater). I too have always believed that life is better when outside in the balmy Queensland sun. But because Doug was posted to Sydney, for nearly 10 years we lived in apartments and tiny townhouses, with no real backyard.
We craved a little patch of grass of our very own! Our dogs were fed up with doing their business on the fake stuff, and we were fed up with the constant smell. And so when our 3 kids came along, we wanted to provide them with the same great lifestyle that we had growing up; rolling around on the grass in the sunshine, making the most of outdoor living. And we did! With 100 acres of it, right next to our little tin shed; hence The Turf Shed was born.
And so when you install a new lawn from The Turf Shed, you’ll not only get a great looking lawn that’s a better place to play, but one that’s wholly produced by a family, for a family.
What’s our process?
It’s a family affair. Once the grass is grown, Georgia tests it for playability (cartwheels and rollie-pollies). Andie tests it for durability (bike rides and ball kicks). Baby Beau makes sure it’s soft and cool for bare feet. The dogs do a roll test, sunbake test and a poop test. And when you order your new lawn, Doug and I get your grass cut it to size and delivered, ready to make your family memories more fun.
